Dr. Polly T. Michaels has the honor and privilege of speaking at this year’s American Academy of Implant Dentistry’s 68th annual conference being held October 23-26, 2019 in Las Vegas! What an exciting opportunity for Dr. Michaels, as she has been a diplomate of the American Board of Implantologists since 2017! Dr. Michaels will be speaking on the topic of mechanically assisted robotics, otherwise known as X-Nav. Her goal of speaking on this topic is to share with other dentists and implantologists where technology used to be, in the world of placing implants, to where it has now evolved! In other words, making the less complex even simpler! X NAV uses 3D navigation to ensure accuracy and precision of implant placement, angle, and depth, all which contribute to the long-term success of an implant. For patients who have had an implant placed by Dr. Michaels since August 2017, X-NAV technologies have been utilized to complete their implant procedure with a smaller incision, less pain, faster recovery, and ideal functional and aesthetic results. The X-NAV technology pairs with a 3D Cone Beam CT scanning system, therefore prior to any implant procedure a 3D scan will be obtained to start the treatment planning and consultation phases. Dr. Michaels ensures through her consultation process that all of her patient’s questions or concerns are addressed prior to the implant procedure. By reviewing the 3D scan with patients and explaining the treatment plan, patients are put at ease knowing Dr. Michaels has extensive training, credentials, and practical experience to handle each patient with the care and consideration needed. Dr. Michaels is thrilled to provide tomorrow’s dentistry today by utilizing the X- NAV Technologies for her implant patients! Her passion for continued learning and sharing her knowledge and experience with fellow colleagues will be clearly evident as she speaks in Las Vegas this month!
